Research team

Dr. Julia Bahner

Project leader

I have previously worked as a social worker and a researcher in Sweden. The idea to this project arose from my PhD research, where I looked at how sexual facilitation was conceptualised and handled in personal assistance services to mobility impaired assistance users. In this current study, I aim to deepen the understanding to a wider context. Please see my staff website for more information on my previous work and publications.

Dr Andrea Hollomotz

Supervisor

As supervisor to Dr Bahner I provide extensive expertise and advice on all things relevant to the project. My current ESRC funded research project evaluates two adapted sex offender treatment programs for men with intellectual disability, one in England and one in Switzerland. The idea for this project arose from my PhD, which looked at sexual vulnerability of adults with intellectual disability (ID). Please see my staff website for more information.

Professor Mark Priestley

Mentor

In my position as mentor to Dr Bahner I am providing advice during the project. I have special expertise in disability policy and comparative policy analysis. Please see my staff website for more information.
